Last SPM 2012: English Paper 1

So SPM 2013 is fastly approaching....and it tragically reminds me of my SPM for last year. As for in this post, I'll 'discuss' about what I did to my Paper 1 :D

So the questions would be:

  1. Describe an outing with your friends.
  2. Should parents give children more freedom? Discuss.
  3. Saving money for the future.
  4. Write a story beginning with: "The teacher walked into the classroom. It was the first period..."
  5. Cleanliness.
Guess what did I choose?

okay my choice was the fourth choice...

Write a story beginning with: "The teacher walked into the classroom. It was the first period..."

seriously, I cannot choose the other questions because:

Question #1: I freaking hate describing outings. I tried writing a description of an outing with my Aunt in our monthly test the previous year and ended up writing a rather childish essay. I almost got a B for my English paper because of it!

Question #2: Me and facts never mingle well. I joined my school debating team that year. I went over dramatic with my performance and ended up emotionally saying that the opposition team was thinking like idiots. As predicted, our team lost. No need to guess who caused it though :D

Question #3: This one has got a mixture of facts and personal experience. You know how I am with facts right? So the question didn't sound like a great choice mixed with my personal experience with money which is pretty horrible. Money cannot stand me, they tend to dissappear quickly.
Question #5: Cleanliness. Why didn't I choose it? Because it is like a signboard for PLAIN BORING. If I wee to choose it, I would start ranting about OCD instead of cleanliness itself :D
So that left the fourth question.

Why did I choose it?

Because my fantasy is better than my reality :D
Okay, that's not the truth. I'll explain why after I reveal what I did with the question.

TEACHER!

everyone was shocked when I told them about it.

But guess what? I got A+ for my SPM 2012 English paper , so do not freaking judge me!

So what triggered that choice?
Because since 2011, I had an infatuation with student-teacher love stories, which is considered forbidden, taboo, and so on. My inspiration? Slammed by Colleen Hoover, Teach Me by Amy Lynn Steele, Sweetest Taboo by Eva Marquez, The Low Notes by Kate Roth, A Season of Eden by J.M. Warwick, Easy by Tammara Webber, and When Summer Ends by Isabelle Rae.
So I crafted my own teacher-student love story which started with the girl starting to have a crush on her new teacher when he walked into the classroom. But guess what? He did not even notice her existence much. She gave up, she moved on. But guess what? She finally got her happy ending (because I am a HEA kind of girl :D)

See how I manipulate stuff into becoming what I want them to become? It could have been about a girl getting detention and starting to hate the teacher or it could be about the student having a problem with the subject taught by the teacher but I didn't choose any of that. This is all because I wanted a teacher-student story. Coincidence would not happen in your story unless you make it!
