Mini Review: Spy Myung Wol / Beautiful Spy

Title:  Spy Myung Wol / Beautiful Spy
Genre: Romance, comedy, suspense
Episodes: 16
Director: Hwang In Hyuk
Screenwriter: Kim Eun Young, Kim Jung Ah
Broadcast period: 2011-Jul-11 to 2011-Sept-6

An unconventional romance between a Hallyu star and a North Korean spy. Han Myung Wol (Han Ye Seul) is a beautiful but hard trained North Korea spy. During her mission in Singapore to escort a daughter of her boss (IDK what to call him), she encounters a Hallyu mega-star named Kang Woo (Eric Moon Jung Hyuk). Kang Woo is a Korean superstar who started from orphanage. Through hard work and rigorous practice, he finally becomes Korean mega star. Kang Woo mistakes Myung Wol as a fan, a crazy one because she trails his every move just to get his autograph (per the bratty daughter request). She is then assigned to seduce him for his country to get a piece of important book which is in Kang Woo’s hand. She starts with becoming his bodyguard and then manages to climb her way into becoming a celebrity (just to match his class). Lots of funny things happen when she tries to gets him to accept her.  Just when he starts to truly love her, the truth floats to the surface. Although she tries to fix things with him (cause she likes him too) she fails because he feels too hurt. But after all the conflicts are solved, they manage to get married. Lol (don’t ask me how cause I have forgotten how)

Not so important part:

Choi Ryu (Lee Jin Wook) is also a North Korean Spy and he’s Myung Wol’s supervisor in North Korean Spy Agency. He’s a cool headed and a calm agent. He also has mission in South Korea. And he starts with having a crush on her but on his mission he falls in love with In Ah (Jang Hee Jin). In Ah is the daughter of the guy he’s spying on, on his mission. She’s an heiress of Korea’s top hotel conglomerate and also a popular actress. She has a strong, arrogant, and aggressive personality, and aims to own everything that she wants. She sets her eyes to Kang Woo but Kang Woo loves Myung Wol instead. Somehow she manages to like Choi Ryu too.

My Thoughts (Will try to update this soon, well I’m too lazy right now)

This is a nice drama, but not my kind of drama because I don’t like action dramas plus the plot seems to be extremely cliché.

The ending: Choi Ryu and Myongwol get into an accident but their body are never found. a year (or maybe a couple of year I'm not sure) later we gets to see Myongwol in a wedding dress, marrying Kang Woo. In Ah who misses Choi Ryu meets him at the wedding.
